Part Time Facility Maintenance Technician

Office: Headquarters
Location: Raleigh, NC

Vets Pets provides trusted and experienced practice management to veterinarians and their teams in North Carolina, and we are growing! This is a part-time position with the potential to grow into a full-time position. This position is responsible for basic maintenance services across our 30+ locations in North Carolina. Vets Pets will furnish all equipment required for completing job duties.

Hours

Average of 20-25 hours per week, with limited as needed weekend responsibilities.

Facility Maintenance Technician Job Duties

  • Building and grounds maintenance and repairs.
  • Practical skills and knowledge in painting, carpentry, plumbing, hvac, and electrical work.
  • Troubleshoot and make the necessary repairs to maintain hospitals and boarding facilities including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and overall general maintenance repairs.
  • Special projects as assigned including paint touch up, flooring repair, kennel repair, power-washing, etc.
  • General handyman experience and the ability to perform a diverse workload as needed is a must.
  • Repair potential safety hazard.
  • Apply preventative measures to reduce risk of future problems.
  • Routine Attention to detail
  • Good time management and communication skills
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Good time management and communication skills
  • Ability to always communicate professionally and effectively and maintain.
  • Ability to work effectively with computers and electronics as needed.
  • Valid NCDL and Good driving record

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting and/or pulling/pushing up to 30 pounds frequently
  • Lifting and/or pulling/pushing up to 60 pounds occasionally
  • Sitting, standing, or walking for an extended period
  • Bending, twisting, kneeling, and crawling
  • Ability to lift, walk, bend, twist, kneel, reach, push and squat throughout the workday.

Education & Experience

  • A minimum of two plus years’ experience in facility maintenance preferred.
