Position Overview:
The Practice Manager works closely with the Partner Doctor and the staff to set the tone of the practice. This individual strives to bring out the best in the entire staff for the benefit of clients and patients.
They interpret and expand the Doctor’s approach to veterinary care and reflect that thinking in everything they do. From scheduling systems, financial arrangements and staff concerns, the Practice Manager is essentially accountable for everything that occurs in the practice. They are the primary source of information and communication in the office and play a crucial role in the day-to-day functions of the hospital.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage the day-to-day operations and adherence to established protocols and procedures
Provide leadership and guidance. Support staff development through training, performance evaluations, and ongoing mentorship
Collaborate closely with Field Operations Director and Veterinarians to maintain high standards of care and enhance the overall effectiveness of hospital operations
Optimize staffing levels, equipment, and supplies the hospital to meet patient care needs while maintaining cost-effectiveness and efficiency
Foster collaboration and communication
Serve as a point of contact for emergency situations, participating in on-call rotations and providing support as needed
Participate in the recruitment and selection process
Routinely lead hospital meetings and one-on-one meetings with employees and doctors
Oversee facility cleanliness and organization
Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, and unpleasant odors.
Ability to always communicate professionally and effectively and maintain professionalism in emotionally charged / challenging situations.
Ability to provide high quality customer service embodying a yes culture for clients.
Ability to work effectively with computers, software, and electronics.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift, walk, bend, twist, reach, push and squat most of the workday
The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds with or without accommodation
Education and Experience:
Prior leadership experience is preferred.
