Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Keeping runs and cages clean throughout the shift
• Feeding pets according to owner instructions
• Keeping water bowls full
• Appropriately medicating pets
• Following laundry procedures
• Keeping facility floors and yards clean
• Supervising dogs properly when outside
• Ensuring proper pet identification is in place
• Documenting care appropriately
• Following safety procedures

Required Skills/Abilities

• Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, and unpleasant odors.
• Ability to always communicate professionally and effectively and maintain professionalism in emotionally charged / challenging situations.
• Ability to provide high quality customer service.
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
• Ability to work effectively with computers and electronics.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift patients with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift, walk, bend, twist, reach, push and squat most of the workday

Experience:

• Animal Care: 1 year (Preferred)
